The young sailor shown is Jack Duncan, Torpedoman's Mate Third Class, when he was only 17 in 1943, taken in Norfolk, VA. Jack retired from active duty in 1985 as the Pacific Fleet Subject Matter Expert in Counter-Terrorism after 43 years of service, moving from San Diego to Lake Havasu City in 1998.
